Spaces designed for public use (incl. children) must have safety glass, if even a part of the glass is placed in the door frame or within 0,3 m of the door and lower than 1,5 m. Otherwise, please follow the same regulation with the parameter set at 0,7 m from the floor. In living quarters it is allowed, though not recommended, to use at least a 6 mm regular float glass.
The risk of cut wounds caused by glass is biggest in areas where there is the most human movement. Such places would be hallways and staircases as well as doors and entrances. These places must always use safety glass (laminated or tempered glass). Windows, glass walls and –doors must be marked clearly for the reasons of easy detection.
